3 August 2005	Mozilla Foundation Reorganizes Mozilla Foundation today announced it has formed a wholly owned subsidiary to be known as the Mozilla Corporation. 11 July 2005	Firefox on c\|NET's Top 10 Download List Celebrating its 10th anniversary, c\|Net has ranked the Mozilla Firefox Web browser as the Number Four download on its list of all-time Top 10 downloads since c\|Net's inception in 1995. Nearing 70 million downloads in only nine months, Firefox is cited as the first contender to pose a real threat to Microsoft Internet Explorer and is grouped with such popular and longstanding applications as Napster and ICQ. Major Web destinations and search engines are responding to this tremendous growth -- last week, Google officially released its own Firefox toolbar. Google's release is hot on the heels of similar customizations by Amazon.com, AOL, Ask Jeeves, Earthlink, and Yahoo!.

11 April 2005	Firefox Download Counter Returns Today at SpreadFirefox.com, home of the Firefox open source marketing effort, a new RSS-powered Firefox download counter signaled that there have been over 44,000,000 Firefox downloads to date. 01 April 2003	Mozilla 1.4 Alpha Released Mozilla 1.4 Alpha is out. This release features dynamic image and table resizing in Composer, smooth scrolling (see release notes for enabling this feature,) and improvements to spam filtering. In addition to these feature improvements, 1.4a also contains fixes for perfomance, stability, standards support and website compatibility. This is an alpha release so expect bugs, and don't use it unless you are willing to live with the risks inherent in such a release (ie. crashes, data loss, etc.). 9 August 2001	MozStreamer MozStreamer is a multimedia plug-in for Mozilla contributed originally by OEone Corporation and based on the GStreamer multimedia framework. The plug-in is capable of handling various formats of both audio and video files and is scriptable using XPCOM.
8 August 2001	Essential XUL Programming Check out the new XUL book, Essential XUL Programming by Bullard, Smith and Daconta. This is a primer on building custom user interfaces using XUL, Mozilla's cross-platform user interface language.
2 August 2001	Mozilla 0.9.3 Unleashed The first Mozilla 0.9.3 builds are out. Talkback data shows that recent 0.9.2 branch builds are more stable than Netscape 4.78 and we expect even better results for 0.9.3. Now is the time to try Mozilla again if you've been waiting for stability to improve.

13 June 2001	Netscape 6.1 PR1 Released Netscape has released Netscape 6.1 Preview Release 1, its commercial browser based on Mozilla 0.9.1.
7 June 2001	Mozilla 0.9.1 Released The first Mozilla 0.9.1 builds are out. Read the release notes for more info. Please use our talkback builds on Windows, Macintosh and Linux. Using talkback builds gives us more crash data so common crash bugs can be quickly identified and fixed. Talkback data from the 0.9 release helped eliminate 34 of our most frequent crashes.

27 April 2001	Bugzilla 2.12 Released Bugzilla 2.12 is now available. Bugzilla is the open source web-based bug tracking system used by mozilla.org and many other projects. Also check out the new version of The Bugzilla Guide.
11 April 2001	mozilla.party.jp 2.0 Join the Japanese Mozilla crew April 22 at their conference and party at Shibuya Mark City in Tokyo. A lot of great Mozilla work is happening in Japan. Check it out at mozilla-gumi.
10 April 2001	Komodo 1.0 Released ActiveState has released Komodo 1.0, a cross-platform, multi-language Integrated Development Environment (IDE) featuring integrated online help, an interactive remote debugger and a regular expression toolkit. Komodo is a XUL application built upon the Mozilla application framework.
4 April 2001	IBM Web Browser IBM has released the IBM Web Browser, a port of Mozilla for OS/2 which includes a spell checker and flash plugin. While the browser is a fee based product, IBM has also released an open source version which is available at mozilla.org.
26 March 2001	DocZilla Browser Beta The DocZilla Browser Beta release for Windows is Now available. The DocZilla Browser is a component add-on for Mozilla based browsers which includes XML/SGML Parser, DTD Parser, Link Manager, and CALS Table Support components.
26 March 2001	Mozilla 0.8.1 Released Mozilla 0.8.1 builds have begun to make their way to the ftp site. Read the release notes for more info. New in this release is long-awaited support for the gopher protocol.
5 March 2001	NSS 3.2 Released Binary distributions for NSS 3.2 are now available on 10 platforms and have been tested and certified on 16 OS releases. Developers of products that incorporate NSS can now improve SSL performance and take advantage of the latest security improvements by downloading the NSS shared libraries. Binaries for the latest versions of the NSS Tools are also available.
2 March 2001	Milestone Added To Schedule In response to the large number of Mozilla 0.9 bugs and our desire to maintain 0.9 as a recommended beta branch point, we have added an additional milestone to the schedule. This new Mozilla 0.8.1 milestone replaces 0.9 in the calendar. Mozilla 0.9 and all subsequent Milestones have been shifted out one 5 week cycle.
23 February 2001	XBL - XML Binding Language 1.0 The XBL 1.0 spec is now available as a W3C Note. This note was submitted to the World Wide Web Consortium with the intention that the W3C use it as a basis for furthering the work on BECSS.
23 February 2001	XPInstall API Reference An API Reference for XPInstall is now available at DevEdge Online. XPInstall is a technology for doing cross-platform installations, packaging, and software updates.

5 October 2000	Warpstock Europe 2000 Michael Kaply of IBM will give an overview of Warpzilla, (Mozilla on OS/2) at Warpstock Europe 2000 an OS/2 event organized by Team OS/2 Deutschland e.V. in Karlsruhe, Germany October 13-15, 2000. Try out M17 on OS/2.
19 September 2000	New Check-in Rules To improve code quality, mozilla.org now requires all changes to be approved by a designated Mozilla code reviewer. This extra level of review applies to everyone, including Netscape engineers.
15 September 2000	Open Source Crypto Library Released NSS 3.1 Beta 1 has been released, including a new implementation of the RSA algorithm. This release provides, for the first time, a complete open-source implementation of the Netscape crypto libraries, and will be used in a future version of Personal Security Manager for Mozilla.
15 September 2000	SeaMonkey Training Videos SeaMonkey BrownBag Training Series videos have been released in the RealVideo format. These talks cover topics including XPCOM, NSPR, crypto, necko, layout and building Mozilla.
16 August 2000	Mozilla To Be Dually-Licensed Plans are underway to make the Mozilla code available under a dual MPL/GPL license. See the FAQ for more info. We're gathering contributor input now, in the mozilla-license newsgroup.

31 May 2000	Bugzilla 2.10 & Security Advisory Version 2.10 has been released of Bugzilla, the open source bug tracking system. The security advisory recommends that people running their own bugzilla installation apply a patch or upgrade to version 2.10 and examine their file permissions.
